The Foundation of Grace

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." - Ephesians 2:8

As a Black woman and founder of The Calico Boutique, my journey has been one of grace, faith, and perseverance. Today, I want to share how God's grace has not only transformed my life but also shaped the very foundation of our brand.

The Power of Grace

Under the old covenant, we were bound by law—a system of dos and don'ts that no one could perfectly fulfill. But through Christ, we entered into a new covenant of grace. As Paul writes in Romans 6:14, "For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace."

This transformation from law to grace mirrors my own journey in creating The Calico Boutique. Each product line, each design choice, each interaction with our beloved customers reflects this fundamental truth: we are saved by grace, not by works.
